The Pond contained a large amount of mature goldfish, Orf and comets along with many baby fish. All the fish were caught and placed in temporary holding while the pond was refurbished. Aerartion was provided to keep the fish happy in the warm weather. The pond was slowly emptied to reveal a large mass of aquatic lily that was cut up and replanted which would be added back into the pond on completion. Tadpoles and frogs and exisiting marginal plants were saved and stored.

Edging stones were removed and existing cement removed. The pond was then re-lined using a high quality fleece underlay and a EPDM Greenseal liner 0.75mm thick which will stand the test of time. The ponds level was determined to allow the water level to remain at the same point at each end. Oase tradux liner connections were installed to allow the filtration to run through the liner and not to trail over the edging stones to give a much better overall look. Oase filtoclear was installed along with an Oase aquamax professional pump to help keep the pond clean and healthy with this modern pond filtration system.

After the pond was filled, folds removed and liner allowed to get its level it was time to re-lay the existing edging stones. A small overhang was used to hide the liner, damaged stones were cut and the edging was pointed.

A selection of aquatic and marginal plants were added along with the fish to complete the pond. Remember it is important to add de-cholrinator to make the tap water safe for the fish, it is also important to acclimatise the fish to reduce shock and stress when moved into their new environment. A bacteria booster was also used to help kick start the ponds bacteria colony.
