This wildlife pond in St.Albans needed to be completely re-lined to hold water again. The old liner looked like an old paddling pool liner! The pond was emptied which was mostly sludge with very little water and the family of newts housed in a temporary pond. A new level was set with a concrete topper for the edging stones and a new shelf was created to allow for a better planting area. The new underlay fabric and pond liner was next with the old Yorkstone being re-used as the edging. Pointing of the slabs along with planting additions completed the pond a fully refurbished environment ready for aquatic life once again.

This was a relatively tricky job due to the fact it was so overgrown, however this was also a blessing as it gave the pond a great natural surround giving the impression that the pond had been there for years.
